Brooks Koepka, who defected to LIV Golf from the PGA Tour last year, is satisfied to get a win under this belt. Last year, he emerged victorious at the LIV event in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Koepka took home $4 million for his individual victory, becoming the first player out of the golf tour’s 48-player roster to clinch two of its individual tournaments.
The golfer is hopeful about his chances at Augusta. Addressing a press conference at Orange County National, Koepka revealed, “I’m playing good, and there’s really no better way to go into Augusta than playing good and get a win.”
The two-time U.S. Major champion’s thrilling individual victory signifies the golfer’s return to fitness following several dismal outings due to his past injuries. “You get into bad habits. That’s the whole other thing because I can’t move the way I want to, so then I start doing stupid stuff, and once you get through the injury and get healthy, trying to break those is tough enough, so that sets you back even further,” revealed Koepka about his injury-laden days.
The LIV golfer is now looking forward to going head-to-head against his former PGA Tour compatriots at the 2023 Masters.

He revealed during the press conference that he missed playing against Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler and believed that they also reciprocated his sentiments. “I’ll be honest, I do miss playing against Rory, I do miss playing against Scottie, and I’m sure they miss playing against us as well. That’s a fact; you always want to play against the best.”
Koepka is hopeful of LIV Golf’s chances at the upcoming event. Per the golfer, one of the 18 LIV players winning will serve as a “huge statement for LIV”.
