18 LIV golfers, including six former Masters champions, will compete at the event’s 87th edition this week. Few LIV stars, however, were seen in their various team logos on Monday. Apparel sponsors dropped many PGA tour defectors following their controversial move to LIV golf. Fans wondered whether the LIV players would sport their team logos at the prestigious Augusta National. Amidst the chaos, 2020 Masters champion, Dustin Johnson, has taken a bold stance regarding the speculation.
Dustin Johnson to sport 4Aces GC logo at the Masters
Many LIV golfers were seen sporting their team logos during the Monday practice rounds on the Augusta National property. Johnson was also out and about on Monday, wearing a polo shirt with the 4Aces GC team logo on it. The former World no. 1 is the captain of the 4Aces GC team, and led them to victory during last year’s LIV Golf Team’s Championship.

During last year’s BMW PGA Championship, the commissioner of the DP World Tour had specifically directed LIV players to not sport any branded apparel from the team format league.
When asked about the number of LIV golfers that will be sporting their team logos during the Masters, Johnson gave a bold reply. “Whoever wears them. Yeah, I mean, I’m just going to wear the Aces.”
Other than Johnson, the 2017 Masters champion, Sergio Garcia, was spotted in his Fireballs GC Team logo. Even Bryson Dechambeau‘s apparel for Monday’s practice round had the Crushers GC logo.
According to a report from the Telegraph, the LIV players have “agreed not to wear the logo of the Saudi-funded circuit” at this week’s Masters tournament. Per the report, those without existing deals with apparel companies “will still don their LIV team outfits” but for this week at least, the central LIV logo “will stay in the wrappers.”
Johnson refutes claims about tensions with PGA Tour players
Just days ahead of the Masters, Johnson denied claims about tensions with PGA Tour players. Like his fellow LIV compatriots, the 38-year-old also reiterated that their existed no drama between the players from the two factions.
