As The Masters Tournament is nearing, multiple new updates are coming to light. This year, LIV Golfers will play alongside the PGA Tour players. Among the 18 LIV defectors who will showcase their skills and try to claim the iconic green jacket, is 2017 Masters champion Sergio Garcia. The Spaniard, who shed his tag of golf’s nearly man after a playoff battle with Justin Rose, gave the latest update regarding the Masters with his wife Angela Akins Garcia.

Sergio Garcia will have a piece of his heart at Augusta on greens

Sergio Garcia is ready to claim the Masters title this year and will have some special support as he navigates the course from Tea Olive to Holly. His wife, Angela, will be his caddie on the grounds of the Augusta National. The couple posted an Instagram update and wrote, “Who’s your caddie?! 💗 Team Sergio Garcia at the Masters this week, who’s with me?” In the post, Garcia is standing next to his gorgeous wife with a big smile and his golf bag.

Marriage is the contract of true love and support. And having his wife by his side will be a strong boost of motivation. Plus, Sergio Garcia having his lucky charm on his bag might just be what he needs to win the title this year. When Bryson DeChambeau, along with Garcia, revealed their Masters invitation, the golf world was not very intrigued. However, the picture changed that.

After the caddie update, the fans wished Garcia good luck and made comments like, “Wishing Sergio great success at The Masters 2023 👍🏽”. But sarcasm also followed. “Hope you have a good time Thursday and Friday before you head back.”

Sergio Garcia had turned to his old bagman once more for the 2021 AT&T Byron Nelson after using a number of caddies in the years following the split from Glen Murray. The list included his brother Victor, Mike Kerr, and Mark Chaney. And now, it’s his wife. It will be interesting to see how it goes at the 87th Masters. Garcia clearly has his focus on his golf rather than any external factors.
