Morikawa said, “Here’s the full video…Ball moved as I addressed it.” “so I threw the coin down in no specific place, replaced the ball to the original spot and then moved my marker to the original spot (from where I threw it),” said the pro explaining it was not his fault. He finally concluded, saying, “I play by the rules, I promise.” After Brooks Koepka’s almost penalty due to his caddie, this is the biggest news of the Masters.

Why was the pro compared to Patrick Reed?

In 2019, Patrick Reed participated in the Hero World Challenge, hosted by GOAT Tiger Woods. Reed was on the par-5 11th hole during the third round of the Albany tournament. He was in a waste bunker, and his ball was in a depression in the sand. The camera caught the LIV defector hitting the ball twice while moving sand out from under it during practice swings. And if the PGA Tour’s rulebook is considered, it was illegal. The pro struggled to get the ball out of the bunker, and as a result, the officials gave him a two-stroke penalty. It was similar to what Morikawa was caught doing and was accused of cheating.
