With so many twists and turns, the Masters Tournament is just getting interesting as it approaches the end! Brooks Koepka continues to dominate the field with a massive lead over Jon Rahm. LIV Golf rebel withdraws from the Masters Tournament
After shooting an opening round of 76, LIV Golf’s Louis Oosthuizen was 3 over during his second round. But little did he know that he was not going to make it to the end of the tournament. As the horn blew on Friday, the golfer only had to play the 18th hole to complete his round. But to his misfortune, the 40-year-old had to withdraw from the event citing an injury.

This means that the golfer will not be joining his partners Kevin Kisner and Adrian Meronk at the 18th hole. Oosthuizen made his 14th appearance at the mega event this year. In fact, he went through a similar situation last year as well, when he was playing alongside golf legend Tiger Woods. Succumbing to his injuries, the LIV Golf star also had to withdraw from the 2022 Masters tournament. Not to forget, another big name from the Saudi league, Kevin Na stepped off the field after completing 9 holes in his first round!

Notably, this is not the first time Oosthuizen had to make such a strong decision due to his injuries. In fact, during his time on the PGA Tour, the golfer also withdrew from the RSM Classic in November 2021. Having battled with severe elbow issues in the past, the golfer had to wear an elbow brace at the Masters. Ever since he shifted to the LIV Golf league, the player has been wearing the same brace on his right elbow. And looking at his past records, he could have stepped back for the same reason again!

As per Greg Norman’s statements about not being invited to the Masters, he promised to wait on the 18th hole to celebrate if a LIV Golf player managed to secure the title. And with Brooks Koepka’s unfathomable skills at the tournament, Norman might have already arrived with a bottle of champagne at the final hole. However, PGA Pro, Jon Rahm is only a few shots behind the LIV Golf rebel. But looking from the fans’ perspective, there are high chances for Koepka to lift the trophy this year! What do you think?
