All year, Jon Rahm has been the talk of the golf world for his grand performances. And with his splendid Masters win two weeks ago, he only jumped further into the spotlight. Grabbing the green jacket, Rahm impressed even his biggest critics in the crowd. And while they all saw him dominate the course to steal the title from Scottie Scheffler, the two pros also had a few private moments soon after the tournament that no one was aware of. Up until now, that is!
Jon Rahm gets candid about his post-win rituals at Augusta
The Masters is a tradition and prestige-filled tournament! And Rahm, with his win, found himself at the helm of it all. Possibly the biggest custom on the Sunday of the event is that of the Green Jacket, wherein the previous winner helps the current champion put on their coat for the first time.

“Awkward jacket exchanges” aren’t uncommon during the ceremony, but with Rahm and Scheffler, that wasn’t the case at all. The two pulled off the Green Jacket exchange perfectly and surprised everyone attending. In fact, Rahm had almost “flawlessly” executed all the customs that day. And talking to the hosts of the Golf Sub Par Podcast, he revealed the secret behind his post-Masters ritual success.

He revealed that ahead of the ceremony; the officials guided him through how to wear the jacket, practiced it with him, and spoke to him about other aspects of the ceremony too. And to get through it all, Rahm had a mantra that he used that day: “Don’t f**k this up”.
The more important custom is the jacket handover

While many think that the handing over of the green jacket was the most important part of the rituals after a Masters win, Rahm busted that myth in the podcast. He revealed that the most important thing he had to remember was that the chairman came first. “The one rule I had to remember was: do not shake Scottie’s hand first,” he stated. “Do the chairman.”
Rahm, of course, was nervous and flustered that day. And all he could think of was not messing up. “The whole time I was there thinking, “Don’t f**k this up, don’t f**k this up,” he stated. Well, it sure did work, as he followed his perfect victory with a perfect ceremony! Perhaps the golf pro will just make this his daily motivation going forward.
