Whenever a statement or an announcement makes rounds in the sports world, everyone has something to say about it. Some people stand by it, and some oppose it, expressing why it is right or wrong. Just a few days back, LIV Golf CEO Greg Norman revealed the plans of the whole LIV Golf League for the Masters. The captain of Smash GC, Brooks Koepka, has given a thumbs up to the plans of the Saudi-backed circuit’s CEO.

Brooks Koepka approves Greg Norman’s plans

Greg Norman recently disclosed that if any LIV Golf competitor wins the green jacket, they might have something truly incredible to look forward to! If one of them wins the prestigious Masters Tournament, then all the LIV league players might be present at the finish line of the 18th green. Players on LIV Golf appear to be plotting a mischievous takeover of the Masters in 2023. Norman gets goosebumps, only thinking about it.

Imagine all the LIV Golf players cheering the one who ends up wearing the green jacket. “There’s talk in our teams all around here. There are 18 of us LIV guys at Augusta and if one of the guys, no matter who it is, they are all going to be there on the 18th green,” stated Norman. After that, Koepka attended a press conference where he was asked about the two Tours coming together and Norman’s plans. Koepka said, “It’ll be great just to see all the good players back, back in one field again, right? It’s the first time we’ve seen it in a long time. That’ll be exciting.”

He added, “I think if one of the LIV players does win, I think it’ll be definitely a huge statement for LIV.” The former number-one golfer talked about the 18 LIV players at Augusta. He said, “All 18 of us want to win. I think when you look at it if one of the guys does, I would be shocked if all of us aren’t there.” He is looking forward to it because he confessed that he misses playing against Rory McIlroy and other PGA Tour pros. “You always want to play against the best. That’s going to make Augusta even more special,” the 2018 CJ Cup winner added.

All eyes will be on the Masters. It will be the first time this season that LIV Golf Series golfers will tee up alongside PGA Tour golfers. After the defectors left the PGA Tour, they were not allowed to come back. But their luck worked. LIV players recently received permission to compete in the Masters. 18 LIV golfers received tickets from Augusta National Golf Club and Masters Tournament Chairman Fred Ridley.

We will invite those eligible under our current criteria to compete in the 2023 Masters Tournament,” Ridley said in a statement via The Palm Beach Post. He explained the reason and said that unfortunately, recent actions had polarised men’s professional golf by downplaying the positive aspects of the sport and the significant contributions made by those who created it. Although they are disappointed by these changes, their key priority is to uphold the custom of assembling the best golfers.
