In his 25th Masters appearance, Tiger Woods has achieved another unique feat. On Saturday, the 15-time-major champion equaled Fred Couples and Gary Players’ record of 23 consecutive cuts at the Masters. However, the player’s colossal achievement has done nothing to ease his caddie’s fears.
This year, the ominous weather at Augusta has posed a challenge to the competing golfers. Now, Woods‘ caddie and confidant Joe LaCava has called the golfer’s injury “devastating” and incompatible with the dismal weather.

For Tiger Woods, who badly damaged his right leg in a single-car wreck two years ago, the 2023 Masters poses an intense challenge. His longtime caddie Joe LaCava has also acknowledged the obstacles that the golfer has to face.
“My biggest fear going in … is we get a lot of rain and thunderstorms and we get the stop and start, or we get extra holes one day,” LaCava said to New York Post. “I can’t imagine him going 27-plus holes [in one day] around here. … I’m hoping first and foremost that doesn’t happen.”
But, the situation LaCava dreaded the most has come true. The five-time Masters champion is expected to play 29 holes on Sunday, an experience that is expected to be brutal. Earlier, the golfer struggled with Saturday’s 14 holes to make the cut at 3-over-par.
When the weather horn was blown following the chill, windswept weather on Saturday, Woods almost staggered off the golf course. “I don’t know how many more I have in me,” the golfer had expressed earlier this week.

However, the golfer equaled Fred Couples and Gary Player’s record of making 23 consecutive at the Masters on Saturday, delighting fans. The 47-year-old, who had earlier suggested that this could be his final appearance at the tournament, finished the second round with a one-over 73.
The golfer bogeyed the 17th and 18th holes to go 3-over par. This meant that other players needed to drop shots for him to make the cut. The golfer pulled through after fellow compatriot Justin Thomas shot a bogey on the 17th tee to shift the projected cut to 3-over.
