However, it seems as if Lady Misfortune still seems to hold the men’s circuit in her embrace.

And surprisingly, at the moment, it is another piece of news that has found itself in the headlines amidst his shift to the alternate tour. Only a day has passed since the Spaniard made his announcement. However, for the Monahan-led body, they went ahead to suffer another blow when rumors surrounding the athletes Tony Finau and Tyrrell Hatton joining the Saudi-backed league started going around. Although the former came out to deny the same, the misfortune doesn’t seem to end there for the men’s circuit.

A post was uploaded by Dan Rapaport on his Twitter replying to a tweet mentioning how the sponsors of a PGA Tour event would end its sponsorship in 2024. Moreover, the tweet divulged how Wells Fargo, the company that started funding the Wells Fargo Championship in 2009 back when it was named differently, would end the same after its next edition in May.

Responding to the same, he tweeted, “A signature PGA Tour event losing its longtime sponsor feels just a little bit more significant after yesterday’s news,” all the while referring to Rahm’s defection. Well, it is a big blow to the men’s circuit, which is, at the moment, also troubled by the poaching rumors.

One cannot deny the fact that the PIF-funded league has brought a great deal of change to the sport. And now, with the departure of one of the top golfers in the world, much is predicted to happen in golf.
