Sports events are unpredictable. Nobody knows who will win until they do, just like they don’t know which fan would do something out of the box. Such was the case when a streaker came running towards John Daly when he won one of the most prestigious events in golf at St. Andrews.
’19th hole’ was written across the back of Mark Roberts, the Liverpool-born serial streaker, when he ran towards Daly naked after he won his first and only Open Championship. He also had drawn an arrow pointing from the term, ’19th hole,’ towards his backside.
It was the last time the American golfer, known for his long drives, won a major. Therefore, he might want to cherish that moment forever in his memory. However, now when Daly looks back, the first thing that pops up on the internet is the picture of him and his wife hugging after the victory and the guards chasing the streaker.

John Daly doesn’t like to sign the picture of the streaker from the 1995 British Open
In the 150th Open Championship’s Q&A session, Daly expressed how much he dislikes the popular photo of him, his wife at the time, and the streaker. “It’s a little embarrassing,” he told the interviewer when he asked about it.
“I’ve signed a lot of stuff, but that’s one picture I won’t sign a lot,” he added. Notably, Long John is one of the coolest golfers on the PGA Tour and has signed a different kinds of photos and even body parts. However, when someone gives him this picture and asks for an autograph, he never does it.
“I’m not signing a guy’s a**. I am sorry.” His answer not only made the audience and the interviewer laugh, but his colleague Lee Westwood also couldn’t control himself from letting out a chuckle.

Interestingly, the 56-year-old claimed that the streaker was a police officer. However, an article on the serial streaker’s website says that he was the naked guy who interrupted the golfer’s special moment.

Although Daly believes the streaker to be a cop, and the streaker saying another story, it is hard to understand who is telling the truth. Whatever the stories might be, people still enjoy watching the picture. Hence, they didn’t wait to share their comment soon after they posted it.
