The co-sanctioned event, starting on December 4th, has already managed to pique interest as 16 players from both Tours will tee it off in pairs along with each other. The tournament would see the top male and female golfers in the world compete alongside each other to deliver an entertaining experience for every golf enthusiast. News regarding the Invitational made the headlines not too long ago as three distinct formats were announced for the three rounds to be held. A post was uploaded on Twitter that mentioned the distinctive setup of the final round that is to be played at the event.
The tournament would be following a twist from the traditional Four-Ball format. In the modified version, both the players from the team will tee their balls and then switch to play the second shot for their teammate. The golfers then go ahead to play the same ball until it is holed. The lowest score of the two would be considered the team score for the particular hole.
PGA Tour pro and ambassador for the event, Rickie Fowler was quick to express his admiration for the modified format. He made sure to denote the new setup to be challenging and unique since playing the “partner’s tee shots is going to be the ultimate test of teamwork.”

During the first round of the event, each player on the team hits a tee shot followed by selecting the ball to be used for the next stroke. The duo will then proceed to hit the next shots from that spot until it is holed. The setup known as the Scramble format would provide immense scoring and strategizing opportunities for the golfers.
Meanwhile, the second round would feature the Foursome format which is also known as the alternate shot setup. The most traditional of the three formats would see each player alternatively hitting the same ball until it is holed, taking in turns at the odd and even-numbered holes.
