Sims welcomed her first child back in July of this year. Even after embarking on the journey of motherhood, she has not put side aside her hobbies and passions.

The American philanthropist recently shared a motivational post on her story of a fellow new mom and cheered her on for following her fitness journey after entering the new mom’s club. Sims wrote, “This caption, the end,” highlighting the importance of hobbies in a new mom’s life.

Becoming a new mother comes with its own set of challenges. One of them is taking care of one’s own self. As in the video, she also highlights, It’s not easy keeping your hobbies or passions alive when you become a mom. It’s reallly easy to want to give it all up and pour everything into your kids. It’s EASY to neglect ourselves.”

In the video, there is further emphasis on how mothers put their passions and hobbies on the back burner because of their new role. One can hear the fitness freak saying, It’s easy to convince ourselves that hobby we enjoyed so much can’t happen anymore because we are now a mom.”

The video ends with letting all the moms not forget that setting aside some time for one’s own self is not “selfish” but “self-love” as the nutrition coach ends the video with the lines It’s not selfish. Part of taking care of your family is taking care of yourself. Don’t forget that.”
