First, players will tackle the Pete Dye Stadium Course, and then they will move to the Nicklaus Tournament Course. After 54 holes, the top 65 and ties advance to the final round at the Stadium Course. The 2025 AmEx is the second event of the Aon Swing 5.
The event was already creating a buzz as world #1 and #2 withdrew from the event because of health reasons. The top favorites in the 156-player field are now Patrick Cantlay, Justin Thomas, Wyndham Clark, and others. The players are going head-to-head for a staggering $8.8 million purse. The purse has increased by $40,000 this year. The winner will pocket a whopping $1.584 million, and the runner-up gets a hefty $959,200. Even the 80th-place finisher earns $16,280. The golfer topping the leaderboard will also get 500 FedEx Cup points.
