The PGA Tour and LIV Golf controversy is increasing each day. Prominent golfers like Dustin Johnson, Phil Mickelson, Bryson DeChambeau, and others have joined LIV. However, Rory McIlroy, Tiger Woods, Justin Thomas, and others have stayed with the PGA Tour, while John Daly, another prominent name, wished to join LIV Golf. But sadly, he did not get any offers.

Meanwhile, we all know John Daly is a party freak with an unorthodox lifestyle. For all the fun the LIV golfers have, he wishes he could join the Saudi-backed rival league. Despite that, he hasn’t been on the LIV Golf series yet. He also believes that LIV Golf CEO Greg Norman is using a wise business model that is beneficial.
John Daly revealed Greg Norman’s sharp business model for LIV Golf
John Daly has been vocal about his interest in joining the LIV golf team for a while. Daly once revealed that he begged Norman to have him in the league. Hence, a reporter asked him whether he had received any offers from LIV at least once.

“No, I’m too old. No, no,” said John. “I think Phil was probably about the one that was going to be the only guy over 50 that could probably get in.” Furthermore, he revealed the reason for the same and unveiled their business model. “I think they’re probably going to go after young college kids, which would be smart.”

“They’re really good. That way, if they don’t play too good on the LIV, they haven’t committed to the tour, so the tour can’t really say yes or no. You can go out and apply for your tour card, go to school, and get some Korn Ferry stuff because they’ve never been a member of it. That’s where I kind of see LIV going,” concluded Long John.
Therefore, LIV Golf CEO and former golfer Greg Norman refused to let John Daly join the league. He knows Daly is in the twilight of his career and may retire from professional golf soon. Furthermore, his game is no longer up to the mark to compete against the younger players.

Hence, the 56-year-old golfer knows this and only competes on the PGA Tour Champions, which is the Senior Tour. He has stopped competing in the regular PGA Tour events.
