John Daly was one of the golfers who dominated the golfing greens in the 90s and the early 2000s. Long John is etched in the memories of golfer lovers as one of the long hitters of the PGA Tour, but along with his remarkable career, his colorful and adventurous way of life has also made it into the minds and hearts of the people.

A reminder of Daly’s hip and happening lifestyle has once again made its way to the internet. An old video of the Wild Thing hitting a ball barefoot and from an unusual place has resurfaced and made quite a stir among the netizens.

John Daly shoots barefoot onto a football field

Daly was last spotted at the PNC Championship as he competed alongside his son for the Willie Park trophy. Although nowadays the veteran golfer participates in very few golfing events, the golfer in him leads him to play golf from the most unexpected places on earth.

An old video of Daly posted by ZIRE Golf shows him being barefoot and hitting his driver far to a high school football ground in Oklahoma, as the caption reads. He took a shot from the parking lot with tall grass and hit it far to cover the highway between the parking lot and the football grounds of the school.

The 57-year-old got applause from his partners in the parking lot as his shot hit the ball perfectly and it probably landed on the school’s ground. Needless to say, the fans on the internet were no different as they hyped the highway shot as well.

The shot from the parking lot to the football ground will be added to the list of things only John Daly can think of doing. After the videos attained widespread attention, there were a few hilarious responses to them, as they’re presented below.

The video shows Long John doing the Long John things and hitting it off in the distance he is most famous for reaching. As per netizens, it might be “dangerous” but it is what John Daly is known for, being out of the box and unconventional.

Hitting the ball from the parking lot, covering the highway, and landing in the HS football field was already iconic, but it being done by a veteran golfer like John Daly makes it even more special and prize memorabilia. One fan wanted to collect the ball, as they asked, “Where’s the kid who found Bobby fairways ball? We need this kid to find a more valuable JD souvenir.”

Another user described what would have happened if he had taken the same shot and jokingly said, “I could lie and say I’d hit a car, but it probably wouldn’t even go that far”

A thing most golfers can relate to is thinking of hitting a space with the driver. Although most won’t follow through, Daly did as one fan said, “John Daly living out the hypothetical “I could definitely reach that with my driver” thing we all do.”

One fan pointed out the risk factor involved with the shot as it is passing through a highway and could hit a car, they said. “That’s dangerous.”
