Woods also spoke about the outstanding golfer in making – his son, Charlie Woods. He explained how he trains his son and what matters the most to him as a father. After meeting with a deadly accident in February 2021, Woods lost track of his sport. He was stuck in bed for months, recovering. But he did not miss the chance to be with his son.
During his recovery, he spent a lot of quality time with his son, guiding him in improving his game. The Woods duo played together at the father-son event and finished second after John Daly and his son in 2021. But this time, they want to take home the trophy. The golfer believes that Jr. Woods has his destiny, which is essential. Charlie will emerge great as a person, not because he is the great, Tiger Woods’ son. He said, “He’s gonna create his own path. And that, to me, is so important as a father that I provide that environment.” As a father, the pro golfer believes that he must provide his son with the environment needed for him to grow. He wants Charlie to avoid toxicity, media, and too much attention, which might become stressful and pressurize him into performing a certain way.
However, Woods also mentioned that he was friendly with his son, but they could never be friends. They will always be father and son, who have a friendly and supportive relationship.
