Jane Park spent a harrowing few hours yesterday. The LPGA Pro, who paused her pro golf career to take care of her daughter, was scrambling to find medicine for her 3-year-old. Park’s daughter, Grace, is diagnosed with intractable epilepsy. Intractable epilepsy is when a child continues to have seizures even after taking two medications.
Per a medical survey, 30% of children with epilepsy are diagnosed with intractable epilepsy. Xcopri is a drug invaluable to Grace and her well-being. A medicine that Jane Park was unable to find. Yesterday, the LPGA pro posted on her Instagram story seeking help from the social media community.
She revealed Grace had already missed one dose because the pharmacy used to source the medicine could not get it shipped. Park also scrounged through the hospital pharmacy with no effect.

For epilepsy patients, Xcopri, an anticonvulsant is crucial to treat partial or onset seizures according to Drugs.com. It should be noted that missing a treatment dose might result in breakthrough seizures.
Fortunately, Park found help from the community as she posted in another story, “A medical mom was available to have some overnighted to us by CA. Thank heavens for this community.”
Sometimes, having social media accounts does help!
Notably, Park’s daughter Grace was first diagnosed with epilepsy in 2021. Grace suffered from brain seizures that resulted in brain damage.

Jane Park braved another storm only months back
Only in November, Grace had to be admitted to the hospital. That time too, Park shared the update via her Instagram handle, which she has dedicated to her 3-year-old daughter, Grace. Although Park didn’t disclose the reason, she wrote on her Instagram story, “Having a kiddo who is nonspeaking where almost everything is a guess as to what her needs are… it’s nice of the universe to give me empirical evidence that she feels comfort and safety in my arms, via a hospital monitor.”
Fortunately, Grace was released from the hospital a few days later. “We’re home! Will wean off oxygen slowly over the next few days. Thank you for getting us through another hospital stay. You guys really don’t know how much it means for you to show up time and again.”
