One of the biggest grand slams of the tennis world, the Wimbledon Championships concluded on Sunday. And besides the royal family, the highly anticipated tournament was attended by A-list celebrities and sports players across the world.
Golf buddies Rickie Fowler and Jordan Spieth were in England for the Scottish Open, so they took out some time to visit the event. And then something happened there which made Spieth the subject of jokes on the internet. Fowler now has come to his friend’s rescue. Let’s find out.
Rickie Fowler defends Jordan Spieth’s ‘wrinkled’ look at Wimbledon

PGA Tour pros Rickie Fowler, Jordan Spieth, and Justin Thomas were last week in England for the Scottish Open. They also showed their love for tennis by attending a match with their wives during the fourth-round at the All England Club. However, Spieth ended up facing some flak for his suit which appeared to be wrinkled. And today Fowler came to Jordan’s defense. His interview was posted on the official page of the Open Championship on Twitter.
Rickie had some sympathy for Jordan’s wrinkled @Wimbledon suit.

Speaking about his London activities Fowler said: “Got a few days in London prior to last week so played Sunningdale walked around London, and went to Wimbledon.”

When a reporter asked him if they had all planned on what they were wearing for the event, Fowler replied, “We were all planning to get suits made. JT and I did that. Jordan didn’t get one made. He got a lot of flak for his suit looking wrinkled. But in his defense, it did look good. It was the car ride, sitting in there for an hour. It didn’t do him justice.” Fowler has played the role of a good friend and came to Jordan’s defense. However, their run at the Scottish Open was not that great.

Jordan Spieth falls at Scottish Open, Fowler ends up very low
Last week the trio played at the Scottish Open with high aims to win. However, the result for all of them didn’t turn out that great. Thomas was tied 60th, while Fowler, who had just tasted victory with Rocket Mortgage, finished T42. And Spieth, unfortunately, couldn’t make the cut at the event. Finally, the trophy was won by Rory McIlroy
