Tiger Woods’ win at Augusta back in 2019, is unquestionably one of the greatest sporting comebacks in recent years. The win stands as a motivation to many fans including the 23-time Grand Slam winner Serena Williams. Throwback to 2019, when the tennis star reacted to Tiger Woods’ win with a praising tweet for the golfing icon.

Woods’ win at the 2019 Masters came after an 11-year drought. Moreover, Woods had recently recovered after serious back surgeries to reach the top of his sport once again.

Serena Williams, who is a close friend of the golfer, was quick to tweet out her reaction to the win. The 40-year-old also labeled Woods’ win as “inspirational”.

Serena Williams is not new to the taste of success. The Williams sister has been a dominant force in women’s golf. Currently, only Margaret Court has more Grand Slams than her in Tennis. However, even for her accolades, the moment at Augusta National-led her to tears.

Williams tweeted, “I’m literally in tears watching @TigerWoods this is Greatness like no other,” while talking about Woods’ win. She further mentioned all the troubles that the 46-year-old had to go through in his personal life before his big comeback win.

Serena Williams ended the tweet by saying, “I am so inspired thank you buddy.” The two stars have been great friends over the years. Williams has previously attended several golf events to support her fellow Nike athlete. Likewise, Woods has been seen celebrating many of Serena’s wins.

With a four-round total score of -13, Woods won the 2019 Masters Tournament by one stroke over his American competitors Xander Schauffele, Dustin Johnson, and Brooks Koepka, who tied for second place.

The Tennis star has been struggling to find back her top form. Her last Grand Slam win came at the Australian Open which she won while being in the initial stages of pregnancy.

Later, in order to give birth to her daughter, Williams had to take a break from tennis in 2017. After “nearly” passing away after the childbirth of her daughter, she returned to tennis, and like Woods, she’s determined to win a grand slam in her comeback.
