The coveted Ryder Cup is going to take place in nearly two weeks at the Marco Simone Golf and Country Club. And since this is one of the most prestigious events in the men’s golf circuit, the rivalry to lift the winner’s trophy is also paramount, given that the teams have already started criticizing each other whenever they get the occasion.
Now, the trend is more frequent as far as Team Europe is concerned. We’ve already seen the Irishman, Shane Lowry, trash the USA Team. Again, another Irish star, Rory McIlroy, has followed the same bent by taking a sly dig at Team USA.

With regard to last year’s Ryder Cup record, it was Team USA that saw success at Whistling Straits Golf Course, with a score of 19-9 at the end of the game. But, as far as their victory on European soil is concerned, the last time they were triumphant was back in the 1993 Ryder Cup, 30 years ago.
Now, a masterclass golfer, Rory McIlroy, who made his Ryder Cup debut back in 2010 and has the utmost knowledge of the coveted event, as well as making his seventh appearance this year in the biennial event, sheds light on his thoughts about Team USA competing in the Ryder Cup.
Speaking on the GOLF’s Subpar podcast, the four-time major winner took a smart jab at Team USA and said, “I think the American team has really turned the corner the last few years I think the cadence of them playing Presidents Cup, Ryder Cup, Presidents Cup, Ryder Cup, they’ve got a really good continuity at the minute. But they haven’t won in Europe in 30 years. So you know, the odds are” reflecting on the fact that Team Europe has dominance on their home soil, and already Team America has run low on luck for the past 30 years on European soil.
In addition to this, he also sounded confident about his team and pointed out the fact that “ I’m feeling really I’m feeling good about our team. I’m feeling much better about our team than I was maybe say eight months ago. So I think we’re in a really good spot.”

At the BMW PGA Championship, all 12 members of the European team participated, including Shane Lowry. Now, amid the tournament, a press conference engaged Lowry in questions regarding the Ryder Cup and his thoughts about Team USA’s winless streak on European soil. To which he answered blatantly, “a great generation of golfers.”
In addition to this, he also said, “I think you can set the golf course up to suit your players, but if your players are not in form, you’re not going to win, end of story.” Thus, he put forward his bold conviction about Team America.
