After a grueling contest at the Whirlwind Golf Club, the LPGA Tour stars are heading for their next challenge. They will be heading to North Las Vegas, Nevada to play on the Shadow Creek Golf Course. It’s time for the T-Mobile Match Play 2025! This was one of the 5 events Nelly Korda got consecutive wins and she is coming back to defend her title. She will also be accompanied by other top stars like Lydia Ko, Jeeno Thitikul, and Charley Hull.
The event in Nevada will definitely be a star-studded affair. Considering the unique format of the event, we will also see NFL stars on the Sunday of the event in a pro-am charity match. With so many amazing things happening on the course, who are the few LPGA Tour players who would be missing all the action? Let’s look at the top 5 names who didn’t make it to the entry list of the T-Mobile Match Play 2025.

Lexi Thompson
According to the LPGA Tour website, probably the biggest name missing from the tournament is Lexi Thompson. Thompson made brief appearances at the Founders Cup and the Ford Championship in 2025. However, she has mostly stayed away from full-time action ever since the beginning of the year. She’s sticking to her partial retirement and has been focusing on self-improvement, personal life, and family. As fans have often noticed on her Instagram, Thompson has been in the best shape of her life and is thriving to go even further in her fitness journey. She also got engaged back in January to her longtime boyfriend, Max Provost. Perhaps, after the completion of the Ford Championship 2025, she has taken another long break to be with her loved ones.
Hannah Green
One of the most shocking players missing at the T-Mobile Match Play 2025 is Hannah Green. The world no. 5 put in a valiant effort at the Whirlwind Golf Club and fans must have been hoping for her to compete in Las Vegas as well. Unfortunately, she is not on the entry list for the upcoming event. In fact, Green has skipped this specific tournament in 2023 and 2024 as well. The last time she played the T-Mobile Match Play was back in 2022. Last year the Australian had suggested that she would like to focus on other events and that is why she had decided to not participate in it. With the first major of the year, the Chevron Championship, coming up soon, Green might want to avoid stressing herself out too much this year as well.

Lilia Vu
Lilia Vu dominated the 2025 Ford Championship. She was the top performer for most of the tournament. Interestingly, she has decided to take a break and not take her great run of form in the 2025 T-Mobile Match Play. Perhaps, just like Hannah Green, Vu also wants to take a break from the Tour before the Chevron Championship 2025. Especially considering the unique format of the Nevada event, things might get a little too stressful for her going into a major event. And with a win already in the bag this year, Lilia Vu is confident enough to step away until April 24, 2025.

Georgia Hall
Georgia Hall is also not on the confirmed entry list of the 2025 T-Mobile Match Play. However, the 2018 Ricoh Women’s British Open is still a part of the entry list. Despite being within the top 80 golfers in the world, Hall hasn’t qualified for the restricted field even in North Las Vegas. She sits just outside the qualified list as Reserve No. 4. Although, if some golfers decide to withdraw from Match Play then there is a chance that Georgia Hall still makes it to the event. It won’t come as a surprise if she will have a close eye on the tournament updates over the week.

Jeongeun Lee6
Just like Georgia Hall, Jeongeun Lee6 has also not made it to the qualified list of the 2025 T-Mobile Match Play. However, unlike Hall, Lee6 is a little bit lower on the reserve list at 15th. The 2019 U.S. Women’s Open champion has already made two appearances in 2025. However, she failed to make it to the top 10 in either of the events. Lee6 finished T13 in the Founders Cup and followed that up with a T48 in the Blue Bay LPGA. The Korean pro might still be hoping to get into the final field in Nevada so that she can have another shot at gaining some form before the major event.
