While talking about the letter, the player said it was merely for prototype purposes. According to him, Kim was talented enough to not need any sort of recommendations. However, he shared an incident involving Kim and his humble gesture toward the golfer.

“Well, this pretty much sums it up,” he said. “When I went and watched the first day of the Presidents Cup, it was like the fourth hole. I was trying to stay out of everybody’s way, even though I was inside the ropes…Tom came 40 yards off the tee to come over and say hi and check in on me,”

But despite his humble gesture of coming forward and meeting the golfer, Zalatoris was surprised. “I’m like, Dude, you’re playing in the Presidents Cup. You don’t need to say hi to me,” he added. Ending his remarks about the player, Zalatoris added how Kim was an amazing person inside and out.
