The new season trailer of the Full Swing series has left the golf world in awe, with major events and insight shared by the golfers. It will be a true delight for the fans but not for LIV Golf, it seems. Earlier, after the trailer showcased the LIV golfer and YouTube sensation Bryson DeChambeau, fans were excited to watch their favorite, expecting glimpses of another side of the US Open winner.

However, Josh Carpenter clarified fan’s expectations by sharing a post on X writing, “For what it’s worth, was told Bryson’s team declined sit-down interviews for the show. His appearance is mostly based around the U.S. Open.” Even though DeChambeau has declined an interview, the fans would still see the key moments from his 2024 season in the season 3 episodes.

Besides this shocking revelation, Chad Mumm, Executive Director of Full Swing, has shared a shocking insight about season 3 and not featuring LIV events in the podcast, Course Record Show. While talking about the last two seasons and the success, he pointed out the harsh reality for LIV Golf.

Mumm Said, “One of the things that I learned was that golf fans in general by the time the show came out last March were kind of sick of the LIV storyline and also hadn’t gone anywhere.” He pointed out how June 6th, 2023, was the biggest development, which was the merger deal talks that were initiated between the PGA Tour, DP World Tour, and the PIF. With over a year since the deadline and little to no progress, the golf world is unsure about the deal’s conclusion. However, with the latest meeting at the White House between Jay Monahan, Adam Scott, Donald Trump, and Yasir Al-Rumayyan, shared hope for closure in the deal.

Talking more on the aim, he said, “We really wanted to get back kinda get away from that, like the future of pro golf players narrative. Until there is an ending to that story. I am sort of less and less interested. Especially for a show like this which is meant for a big broad audience.” He even continued to share how the coverage of close family members and events is being prioritized in season three, similar to season one. The insight from seasons one and two has helped in realizing the fact that a golfer’s life away from the course has been a major attention-grabber for the viewers.

Season 1 was a great hit for the series as it garnered 58.1 million views and saw a decline with the second season (28.5 million) due to the limited inclusion of Golf World. However, the third season promises to be even more exciting with season 3. But will that be the reality?

Can Full Swing Season 3 thrive without featuring golf's biggest drama—LIV Golf and its stars?

Is Full Swing Season 3 missing other entities?

The series, which was released on February 25th, 2025, has had great expectations from fans. However, there are a few other misses besides Bryson that might affect the series ‘ ability to reach success as the previous two. DeChambeau, who was earlier in the negative spotlight, was praised by the golf world. However, it didn’t help that his appearance was similar to other golfers.

Other than the LIV golfer, the world no. 2 was another name that wouldn’t be featured in the series. Golf Monthly shared that the team was unable to convince Xander Schauffele to be part of the latest season. The golfer who achieved a great feat by winning the PGA Championship and the Open Championship in 2024 was among the top preferences even for the PGA Tour Player of the Year. However, the shock caused by the golfer left many questions unanswered.

Besides that, apart from the merger updates, the series lacked the drama of LIV Golf. Even the fans were seen disheartened with the expectations set by the trailer and content offering in the episodes. Moreover, only one episode featured the ongoing topic of talk, i.e., the Ryder Cup. Now, there are some misses and some great inclusions. Can the series get to the level achieved in the first two seasons? What are your thoughts on it? Share with us in the comments below.
