Bryson DeChambeau's name is a mouthful! Does it add to his unique persona on the golf course?

We hear all sorts of fun stories that keep floating in the golf world, but this one takes the cake. The fans love Bryson DeChambeau and refer to him as a man of the people. But did you know that your beloved golfer’s name is not his real one?

Many elite fans already know this, but for those who don’t know, DeChambeau’s real name is Bryson James Aldrich DeChambeau. That was a mouthful, right? Because that’s how the golfer describes it! According to the Guardian, the golfer revealed that his birth certificate reads Aldrich DeChambeau, which explains his B-A-D initials.

“My name is Aldrich DeChambeau on the birth certificate. That’s why it’s B-A-D, bad. My middle name is James. Thanks, Mom and Dad, for giving me the longest name in the world”, said the golfer. But that is not even the fun part! One would think that the golfer always knew about his real name, right? But that was so not the case.

According to DeChambeau, he didn’t even know he had two last names until he was in high school. When he went to register under DeChambeau, the officials couldn’t find him in the system. It wasn’t until his mom stepped in that the truth came out. “Funny part is, I didn’t even know I had two last names until I was in high school. I went to register under DeChambeau, and they were like: ‘We don’t have a DeChambeau.’ My mom was like: ‘Oh, yeah, about that, you actually have two names.’ Didn’t know that for 14 years of my life”, continued the golfer.
