Being a celebrity is not an easy job, and no one would know this better than Paige Spiranac. The diva is well-known in the golf community for her bold looks and unapologetic opinions. This has allowed her to boost an impressive amount of followers on her social media accounts. Though, sometimes, having such a massive fanbase has its own repercussions.
Especially because of the online platforms that pave the way for anonymity. The golf influencer encountered one such downside of the online ecosystem. However, this time the rumor did not only feature Paige Spiranac but dragged the leading scorer of the 2023 US Open, Rickie Fowler, into it as well. This probed the Instagram star to make a request to her followers in an attempt to cease all the online drama.

Recently, a tweet highlighting Spiranac’s name got viral. It claimed, “I’ll do a b**b reveal when Rickie Fowler wins a major”. The news was obviously fake and the golf diva was quick to call out the same. She sternly informed her fans that no such thing was going to happen. Since the fans did not know about the lack of originality of the tweet, they flocked to the star’s dm to ask about the same.
But Paige Spiranac earnestly enlightened them, “not to get your hopes up”. Unfortunately, based on her Instagram story, it appears that her followers have not stopped enquiring about the tweet. Hence, she once again took to the online medium to request her fans to stop believing in this fabricated message. The influencer captioned, “This is fake. They photoshopped a tweet. Not real, so please stop asking“.
At the end of the caption, she put the acronym “lol,” which might have implied she couldn’t believe her followers were still bringing up the tweet, despite Spiranac’s attempt to shut down false information.
It makes complete sense as the social media icon has been crystal clear about her stance on nudity. She has unapologetically expressed being uncomfortable about sharing such pictures of herself online. She also confirmed how she wants her content to “provide more value”. Her talent soars when it comes to golf instruction and that is exactly what she wants to do.
Sadly, it appears that one of her fans was not aware of her perspective on this and created a fake tweet. The grounds behind the same was just an opinion that Spiranac shared about Rickie Fowler before the third golf major.
How did all this online confusion start?
Since Spiranac is famous for sharing her golf knowledge before a major tournament, the 2023 US Open was no exception to the same. In one of her Instagram stories, the star named her favorites for this season. She turned her attention to the individual favorites, which included Max Homa, Scottie Scheffler, Jon Rahm, and Brooks Koepka as the top candidates for the 2023 US Open.
Surprisingly, among her long shots was Rickie Fowler as well. And Wow! She couldn’t have made any better predictions. Fowler has been the star of the 123rd US Open since Day 1. Currently, he is tied at T1 with Wyndham Clark at a total of -10. His excellent skills on the North Course in LA enabled him to make a historic start to the game.

As we move into Sunday, the American professional would be aiming for his maiden major championship win. While the past few days have been going more than well for Fowler, Spiranac’s mention of him as one of the players who might play well in the Open caused some hurdles for the Instagram star.
Despite her stern answer to those who asked the Instagram icon about the ‘fake tweet’, she ended it on a light note. “But I did pick Rickie as a long shot so at least I have that going for me lol“, Spiranac concluded. It appears that the golf influencer does not want to make a big deal out of the entire situation, but is transparent in shutting down claims.
