Family over fairways—Is Lexi Thompson making the right call by prioritizing personal life over golf?

Despite all the anticipation going into the tournament, Lexi Thompson couldn’t make the cut in The Annika 2024. After scoring 2-under par 72 in the first round, she fell short in round two with 73 strokes. Thompson couldn’t make it to the penultimate day to qualify for the prize money and she was clearly upset about it.

A couple of days after her exit, she shared a story on her Instagram of the little surprise she received from her family. The bunch came to visit Thompson during one of her practice sessions on the course. The picture showed her brother holding his son, Mav while sitting on the course with “Golf course vibes” captioned on it. Lexi Thompson shared another story where she is seen smiling brightly while holding her nephew, Mav. The caption read, “What a nice surprise to see Mav when I went to practice.” as she was clearly happy to see her family join her on the course.

Tracing the picture back to her brother, Curtis Thompson’s Instagram account, he also shared a video of the view from his seat and turning it back into a selfie. Curtis, who is a Korn Ferry Tour pro himself, shared a few more stories showing his family during the visit. Some of the photos tagged his wife; Julie Thompson, mother; Judy Thompson, and Lexi Thompson’s boyfriend, Max Provost as well. There is a possibility that they were also a part of the group who visited Thompson during practice.
