The recent withdrawals from the Farmers Insurance Open have raised concerns among fans, particularly with Ludvig Åberg’s health situation. Despite over 15 players pulling out of the tournament, the 25-year-old Swede decided to participate, though he was visibly struggling due to illness. Åberg, who had finished T5 at the Sentry Tournament of Champions, saw his performance drop to T42 after battling the stomach flu.

He began the event strong, holding the lead, but as the rounds progressed, both the challenging weather conditions and his ongoing health issues took a toll on his game. However, he has not given up. After struggling, at last weekend, Aberg is currently teeing off in California at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. The opening round concluded a few hours ago, and well, it did not look good for him.

He opened the round from the back nine, with an even par, followed by a birdie. However, he then carded two consecutive bogeys. He even had a double bogey on the seventh hole and concluded the round with a disappointing 5-over. Ludvig Aberg is currently at the bottom of the leaderboard. Could this be because of his health? Well, turns out he is still sick. Golf Injury Report took to their official X account and stated,Can someone bring Ludvig Åberg (illness) a Gatorade or an Orange Juice? His caddie says he’s still sick… Smh”

Hideki Matsuyama’s performance drops miserably

Hideki Matsuyama too was one of the players down with the flu last weekend. However, a few hours ago, reports said, “Hideki Matsuyama was also one of the golfers dealing with flu-like symptoms last week at The Farmers. He said he’s feeling better and expects a bounce back this week.” But it does not look like he has bounced back. At least not compared to how he started the season.
