At the 2024 Valspar Championship, 5 golfers are tied for the lead after the conclusion of Round 2. Among the leaders is the name of 8-time PGA Tour winner and a veteran in the field, Stewart Cink. The 50-year-old has been displaying a powerful performance at the Copperhead Course in the relatively young field. Cink has been unstoppable. The 2009 Open Championship winner scored the Friday round of 4 under 67 and made a massive jump from being 27th to tie for the lead. That couldn’t have been done without his partner in crime- his golfing gear!

What driver does Stewart Cink use?

Stewart Cink, who plays on the PGA Tour and the PGA Tour Championship, has long been inducted as the PING staff golfer. Resulting in his bag having all PING equipment except for his ball. Cink starts his round with the newly released PING G430 MAX 10K driver with 10.5 degrees of loft. He pairs it up with the Graphite Design Tour Shaft.

The driver has been adjusted to provide comparatively better forgiveness than any other PING driver because it has a record-setting MOI and offers low spin. The driver retails for $599. Coming to fairway woods in Cink’s, from last time, they have changed quite a bit. Unlike before, he now uses a 3-wood and a hybrid instead of a 5-wood.

The 3-wood in the 2009 Open Championship winner’s bag is the PING G430 Fairway. It has been equipped with the PJX Hzrdus Smoke Green shaft and has 15 degrees of loft. Like many PING Woods, it also has the carbon fly wrap for weight distribution and the spinsistency for reduced spin and fast speed. It sells for $349.99.

As for the hybrid used by Cink at the Valspar Championship, it is the G430 2 Hybrid with PJX Hzrdus RDX Black Hybrid shaft and 22 degrees of loft but Cink has adjusted it to 20.5 degrees. The hybrid is equivalent to a 9-wood or a 4-iron and it sells for $299.99.

Irons, wedges, and putter in Stewart Cink’s bag

Cink uses the PING Blueprint T Irons (4-pitching wedge) with True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour Issue shaft. The irons are made from a single piece of 8620 carbon steel forged into the club. The set can range anywhere between $212.50 to $1,699. The next in line of iron is the PING i230 Utility Wedge with TT DG Tour Issue X100 shaft with GP Tour Velvet 58R grip. It retails for $189.

As for the wedges, he has two different PING wedges in the bag. It is the PING Glide Forged Wedge (56 S) with DG Tour Issue X100 shaft and the PING Glide 4.0 Wedge (60). The two clubs sell for $129.00 per club.

Lastly, Cink uses the PING Vault 2.0 Ketsch Putter, which has a stealth finish and a Chrome shaft with 2 degrees of loft and 20 degrees of lie. The mallet putter cost $300 for one. The only differential element in Cink’s bag is the Titleist Pro V1x ball.
