The hottest job position in the sport of golf is up for grabs. Tiger Woods, who spent more than 12 years with Joe LaCava, has finally parted ways with his caddie. With Woods’ left with no one to carry his bag once he returns back on the field, the golf world revolves around who’s the right person to caddie for Tiger in the forthcoming future.

After a successful Subtalar Fusion procedure, Woods is expected to miss the rest of the 2022-23 season. Following his long recovery period, Tiger’s caddie Joe LaCava has decided to carry the bag of Patrick Cantlay from this week’s Wells Fargo Championship.

While many may have considered this as the end of the Hall of Famer in professional golf, LaCava confirmed to the PGA Tour that Woods is ‘not retiring’ at the moment. With the 15-time Major winner seeking a return to the sport, who is the right caddie for him?

The search is on for Tiger Woods’ next caddie

Despite having a 27-year-long career, Woods has rarely been without a caddie. During the early phase of his professional circuit, Mike ‘Fluff’ Cowan carried the young Tiger’s bag. The caddie was next to the golfer during his iconic 1997 Masters win. Nonetheless, from 1999- 2011, Steve Williams became Woods’ caddie.

The New Zealand-born caddie was one of Tiger Woods’ most notable bagmen. The duo cherished the best phase of Tiger’s illustrious career. Nonetheless, as Williams joined hands with Australian PGA Tour pro Adam Scott, an unhappy Woods decided to end ties with the Kiwi. But since even Joe LaCava’s relationship with Tiger has come to an end after 12 years together, many consider Williams as the right replacement.

Though Steve claimed to have retired from caddying, he returned to the sport earlier this year to caddie for Adam Scott again. With him being occupied with the Australian, what’s the other option for Tiger Woods? Some fans on Twitter also consider his 14-year-old Charlie Woods as the right option. Though Tiger has caddied for his thriving golfer son during the latter’s amateur events, the two can switch positions in the future.

Apart from Charlie Woods, many consider Rob McNamara also as an option. Though he holds the Vice President position in TGR Ventures, McNamara has also been acting as Tiger’s unofficial swing coach in recent years, since the golfer hasn’t appointed anyone for the role officially. Nonetheless, with another opening to carry Tiger’s bag, Rob McNamara will have more duties than directing Tiger’s golf swings.

With McNamara already occupied in other work, and still on bad terms with Steve Williams, appointing Charlie Woods can be the right call for the golfer. His 14-year-old son, who has been learning more about the sport each day, can gain more knowledge by spending time around the professional golfers and his 15-time Major winner father. Nevertheless, the golf world had its say on who’s the next caddie for Woods.

Who is Tiger Woods’ next caddie according to the golf world?

Since Tiger won 13 Major titles with Steve Williams, he was among the favorites to be given Woods’ caddie role.

Another set of fans hoped for the young Charlie Woods to caddie for his father in some events in the future.

One fan even recalled Mike Cowan, while another user suggested Rob McNamara to caddie for Tiger Woods.

While everyone on Twitter suggested some familiar caddies’ names, one fan proposed that Woods would use a golf cart from herein.
