Steve William spent years caddying for the golfing legend Tiger Woods. Although the two had split over reasons unknown, the caddie still remembers his days with the 15-time major champion. And he had once shared what habit of the golfer irked him the most!
“One thing that really p***ed me off was how he would flippantly toss a club in the general direction of the bag,” Williams revealed. “Expecting me to go over and pick it up.” The New Zealander disclosed the golfer’s habit that annoyed him while he worked with him in his book ‘Out of the Rough.’

According to Williams, he felt “uneasy” picking up the clubs that Woods flung towards the bag. “It was like I was his slave,” he added. Williams carried Woods’ bag for more than 10 years. As a result, the caddie knows the golfer inside out and has found more than one thing he does that “p***es” him off!
Another habit of Woods’ that annoyed Steve Williams!
“The other thing that disgusted me,” Williams wrote in his book. “Was his habit of spitting at the hole if he missed a putt.”

Notably, Tiger Woods was once fined and heavily criticized for spitting on a golf course during a DP World Tour event. However, he didn’t spit in the hole like Williams suggested; the World Golf Hall of Famer did it on the green.

Although the New Zealander had issues with the golfer, the duo had achieved a lot when they worked together.

After caddying for the legendary golfer Greg Norman and Raymond Floyd, Steve Williams worked with Woods from 1999 until the golfer fired him in 2011. In this period, the former world no. 1 won 70+ titles worldwide, including 13 majors and 16 World Golf Championship titles. Notably, the 2014 Caddie Hall of Famer assisted Woods to win his legendary Tiger Slam, winning all majors in a row.

After parting ways with Woods, Steve Williams carried the bag of Adam Scott and won the 2013 Masters Tournament with him. Woods, on the other hand, won his Masters Tournament in 2019, the only major he won after Williams left him. He won it with his new caddie Joe LaCava.
