The 2000s were the most glorious years for Tiger Woods. And his journey with his long-time caddie Steve Williams made him win 13 major championships. He was at a peak until 2009, when the media highlighted his alleged scandal. That’s when things started going south for him. By the end of 2010, he had lost almost everything. His sponsors left him; fans heckled him, his rivals stopped respecting him, and his wife divorced him. It was one of the darkest phases of his life when he lost his self-respect, coach, and swing.

According to Williams, the pro golfer should not have returned to golf so soon after his 2009 accident, followed by the revelation of his alleged scandals. And coming back so soon was a mistake on Woods’ part. However, Williams also mentioned that Woods had a significant ego. And he also had a close relationship with Pebble Beach and St Andrews. He had many memories of that golf course, so his ego couldn’t ignore the opportunity. He wrote about Woods“He made a mistake by coming back so soon, but he couldn’t resist the lure of playing the majors at Pebble Beach and St Andrews – they were venues at which he had such a compelling record it was too much of an attraction for his ego to ignore.”

Further, Williams added that Woods made many promises to his fans that he would be a good person. He vowed to appreciate the game more and to treat fans and the individuals he worked with better. He made many promises to the public as well. However, everything about him remained unchanged, according to the former caddie.
