The first match of the inaugural season of TGL will be played in a couple of days. Fans are excited to see what’s in store for them from the arena at the SoFi Center, in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
Two teams are getting ready to play the first-ever round as they would be looking to start off with a victory and vital early points. The New York Golf Club, led by Xander Schauffele, will be on one side of the action. The team will also include, Rickie Fowler, Matt Fitzpatrick, & Cameron Young.
They will be facing a formidable side of The Bay Golf Club, inclusive of Wyndham Clark, Ludvig Aberg, Min Woo Lee, & Shane Lowry. While all the players will be busy preparing for the event, do any of the players in either team also have to worry about the management?

Well, as we learned about the New York Golf Club, neither of the players are part owners. The team is owned by the likes of Jimmy Fallon, Eli Manning, Michael Strahan, and others. The same is the case for The Bay Golf Club as well.
Turns out, neither Clark, Aberg, Lee, & Lowry have any stake in their club. As stated on the official website of TGL, Marc Lasry’s Avenue Sports Fund is the majority owner of The Bay Golf Club. The organization provides capital to various leagues and clubs worldwide. Established in 2023, the firm also invests in emerging sports venues and properties with promising financial gains in the future.
Beyond Avenue Sports Fund, The Bay Golf Club is also owned by a number of minority stakeholders from the world of investments and sports. One of the biggest names associated with the club is Golden State Warriors player and NBA legend, Stephen Curry. The golf club from the Bay Area also has other basketball connections with the likes of Klay Thompson and ex-NBA star Andre Iguodala also holding a part of the ownership.
Other than its NBA affiliation, The Bay Golf Club has also attracted interest from athletes from other sports. Famed Manchester City star and renowned soccer defender, John Stones also holds a stake in the club. Moreover, F1 driver and fan of Michael Schumacher, Alex Albon has also invested in Wyndham Clark’s golf club.
Lastly, two Olympians are also minority shareholders in the club. Italian surfer Leonardo Fioravanti and Japanese wave rider Kanoa Igarashi, who have both represented their nations in the Olympics, have made an investment in The Bay Golf Club.

Other ventures of The Bay Golf Club’s biggest investors
True to their name, Avenue Sports Fund has invested in a number of other sports teams apart from The Bay Golf Club. One of its biggest investments is in the Ipswich Town Football Club, a soccer team based in England. They currently play in the English Premier League, the highest-ranked soccer league in England. They have also funded the SailGP sailing team, a sailing sports club in the USA.
Their next venture is that of a sports venue, the CityPickle Club. It’s a pickleball sports club based in New York. Avenue Sports Fund’s last sports-related investment is in the Trackhouse Racing motorsports organization. It is an automobile designing firm that often competes in NASCAR and MotoGP. Lastly, they also have a stake in Mercury 13, a non-sport organization that works as a private equity firm.
