The Solheim Cup team is currently in Spain with hours to go for the event’s inception. In a pre-tournament press conference, the captain of the team and the vice captains answered a few questions about the team and their mindset.

Speaking of morale, Danielle Kang’s missing bag made quite a ruckus recently. The 30-year-old lost her golf bag somewhere on her journey to Spain. Luckily, word spread out, and the issue has been sorted. The captain explained how the issue ended and spoke about how Kang responded to the whole commotion.

Talking about the bag’s return, Stacy Lewis explained how her dad went and picked up the bag for the team. In gratitude and relief, she called him the MVP of the week. She then commented on the response from people after Danielle Kang sought help online.

Lewis claimed that “the number of people that were working on finding that golf bag the last two days is astronomical” She also mentioned how Kang has appreciated all the help, and expressed it with hugs and thanks.

The captain then continued to praise Kang for the composure she held. “I’ve told a lot of people this, she’s handled it so well, like, so remarkably well that I think it sent a message to the rookies.” She mentioned how Kang did not panic, and how that helped the team’s vibe. Lewis even called her a leader in that aspect.’”

For more context, Danielle Kang, during her flight to Spain, had to stop at Amsterdam on her way. When she arrived at Andalucia, she checked her stuff and she only had her putter with her. The other 13 clubs were not available. She tweeted about it tagging the Airlines and waited patiently for something to happen.

While her own bag was on its way to reach its rightful owner, there were some alternate arrangements in place to help her out.

Although the original bag is safe now and is arriving, Kang might have managed just fine even if that hadn’t happened.

The tournament sponsor ‘Ping’ had apparently sent her a temporary set for her to practice and even play with, in case things didn’t work out in her favor. She also mentioned how her sponsor Titleist had sent her a second set of clubs in case her original set didn’t make it to her.

Kang thanked everyone who helped and sounded immensely grateful for the assurances. She called her captain Stacy Lewis incredible and said that the whole US team was understanding and kind to her.
