Former world no. 1 Justin Thomas finished T25 at the 2023 RBC Heritage last Sunday. His performance at Hilton Head came after the golfer surprisingly failed to make the cut at the 2023 Masters earlier this month. After a hectic few weeks of golf, Thomas is now celebrating “spring break,” with a few of his golfing buddies in tow.
The 2022 PGA Championship winner is currently winding down with Jordan Spieth, Rickie Fowler, and Smylie Kaufman. He took to Instagram to share photos of the group with their wives, sharing that they were the same old “hooligans at heart.” The photos are making golf fans nostalgic, most of whom will recall the foursome’s heroics from spring break 2016.

Most golf enthusiasts will recall #SB2K16 when Justin Thomas, Jordan Spieth, Rickie Fowler, and Smylie Kaufman came together for an epic bro-cation in 2016. Eight years later, the four friends and their wives have reunited for another memorable trip.
Thomas shared photos from their trip to his Instagram with a wholesome caption that read, “Spring Break has changed a bit since 2016… But we’re all still the same hooligans at heart. Love these peeps!” Fans can’t get enough of these photos, with one commenting “Squad goals” under the post.

Some fans reminisced about the group’s adventures from almost a decade ago. “SB2K16 is goated 🐐,” wrote one fan. “They’re all grown up now 🥹,” commented another. One golf fan also hilariously called out Jordan Spieth, the 2023 RBC Heritage runner-up. Following his loss to Matt Fitzpatrick, the world no. 9 walked away with an incredible $2.18 million in earnings. “Hope Jordan’s paying 😅,” commented the fan.
“I’d really like to be best friends with you guys. Are you taking applications?” inquired one Instagram user under Thomas’ latest post. Some fans even took a playful dig at the pristine white sneakers the four friends were sporting in the photo, with one saying, “Did yall coordinate the white sneakers?” “The young guns of golf,” opined a fan.
The two-time major winner Thomas finished T25 at the 2023 RBC Heritage winning $160,500 in earnings. Meanwhile, Rickie Fowler, who missed the Masters at Augusta this year, had a much better outcome. He finished T15, taking home $335,000.

The former world no. 1 Thomas was among the golf stars whose missed cut at the Masters shocked and disappointed many. While Thomas’ fans expected the golfer to turn things around in the 2023 RBC Heritage, his outing at Hilton Head did not quite meet their expectations.
Despite showing sparks of brilliance throughout the RBC Heritage event, Thomas could only manage a T25 finish. He tied with Justin Rose, Denny McCarthy, and Jimmy Walker, all of whom took home $160,500 each in earnings. His place in the Official World Golf Rankings has also taken a hit, as the 29-year-old has fallen to 14th place.
