In addition to eight PGA Tour victories, the Japanese golfer has a terrific sense of humor. Recently, a reporter questioned Matsuyama about his beard, the inspiration behind keeping it, and its greatest features. Matsuyama, being his goofy self, responded that the best part about his beard was that he didn’t have to shave it. Unintentionally, he allowed his beard to grow, although some people have said that he looks nice with it. And right now, he is absolutely motivated to keep his beard.

“I don’t know why I let it grow out, but then everybody says, man, it looks really good, so I guess it might be here to stay,” said 31-year-old golfer.

The reporter then went on to agree to the claim. The PGA Tour also posted a portion of his interaction on its official Instagram account. The post’s caption reads: “Bearded Hideki is the best Hideki 😎”

The 31-year-old golfer not only displayed his silly personality, but also talked about Muirfield Village Golf Club. He said he liked the course, even though the course was tough, especially the greens. But he enjoyed playing on this particular course, and wanted to come play here without competing in a tournament.

“I really like this golf course. I wish I could play it more in a non-tournament setting because it’s just fantastic here. But it is a difficult golf course, and that’s the big challenge,” said the World No. 25.

Matsuyama is undoubtedly giving his all on the course, but let’s see how fans responded to his lighter side.
