The 52-year-old LPGA icon is among the very few golfers who can relate to Tiger Woods professionally, since not everyone has had the same highly decorated career as the 15-time major champion. The two were at the extreme peak of their careers once and shared an explicit friendship with each other at that time. During her appearance on Graham Bensinger’s YouTube show, In Depth with Graham Bensinger, she shared how both of the legendary golfers became each other’s pillars of strength.
The host asked the Sweden legend what impressed her the most about Tiger Woods, and she said it was his focus and concentration. She called him a disciplined golfer and appreciated his willingness to excel even more. She revealed that at times Woods would message her, asking about certain particular things, and Sorenstam would be taken aback because she would know exactly what he meant.
The Swede further revealed that the Golf Hall of Famer was very curious about getting better. “He pushed himself very hard, he wanted to be this very super athlete, and he loved that,” said the LPGA icon. “He was not afraid to try and experiment to get better.” Calling his focus and his ability to focus exceptional, the 72-time LPGA Tour winner said, “[It was] something I haven’t seen before.”

Since both the golfers were at their peak during the early 2000s, they knew exactly what the other was feeling both on and off the course, and this helped them relate to and be more open with each other. Sorenstam revealed that it was nice to talk to somebody who knew the sacrifice it took to be on top.
As per her, usually people think that when a golfer wins a major, they are happy and done, but that is far from the truth, and Woods was one of the few people who understood that perspective from her. She also revealed that after a point, things became competitive between them, and they would text each other after winning tournaments, flaunting their victories. “It was kind of cool,” she stated.
