Ten years ago, a Nike campaign featuring Tiger Woods caused quite a stir in the world of golf. The 15-time Major winner had just regained his no.1 ranking in the world, prompting the company to unveil its “Winning Takes Care Of Everything” ad.

Given Woods’ sensational track record in the sport, the ad’s tagline has garnered significant popularity, incentivizing fans and athletes alike. However, as one PGA Tour player once hilariously quipped, not all pro golfers can be as successful or “win anywhere.”

Kevin Kisner enjoys great popularity among golf fans for his candid and humorous nature. But, he hasn’t been as successful on the field, managing only 4 victories in his long career on the PGA Tour.

However, the 39-year-old doesn’t seem to harbor any bitterness over his lack of wins. “You can win anywhere, can’t you?” a reporter had asked the golfer ahead of the PGA Tour’s Sony Open in 2021. “Probably not,” replied a wise-cracking Kisner. “I’m not going to win at Bethpage Black or Torrey Pines.

But Kisner opts to compete anyway, given the massive prize purses generally on the line for these tournaments. “Because they give away a lot of money for 20th,” Kisner said when asked about his reason for showing up.

Now, the golfer’s funny and matter-of-fact quotes have come to light once again, with fans showering praise on the PGA Tour pro’s “normal dude” demeanor.

Fans react to Kisner’s honest revelation

Despite having extremely hectic schedules, pro-golfers will often crack their fans up from time to time. After Kevin Kisner’s realistic statement resurfaced on Twitter this week, fans couldn’t help but appreciate his sense of humor. “One golfer I’d love to spend the day with,” shared a fan. Meanwhile, another termed him a “realist” for his honest confession.

Meanwhile, others talked about the dip in his form, with one wishing that Kisner played “as good now” as he used to once. Another noted that the golfer “can’t win anywhere anymore,” pointing toward his dismal outings in recent events.
