In a pre-tournament interview, LPGA star Rose Zhang was asked about what advice she has received being a rookie player about competing this week that stood out, She mentioned, “I have to second that. All the advice that we’ve received was just how to deal with the crowds and how to deal with the adrenaline that we’re going to get on the golf course.”
Further talking about Angela’s advice, she added, “Especially Angela (Stanford), she talked to me yesterday on the 17th green and she was talking about how basically everyone who has played the Solheim Cup before has always felt nerves, and the nerves, the first tee nerves, just the overall adrenaline that we get is not a cap in any sense.”
She further continued, “So it’s really cool to be able to know that there were people ahead of us and people who are on the team who are going to be experiencing the same emotions and the same feelings, but we’re all in it together.”
During an interview earlier, Zhang expressed her astonishment, stating, “It’s been pretty crazy because I expected myself to also be a captain’s pick,” during her appearance at the Kroger Queen City Championship at Kenwood Country Club in Cincinnati. Currently, she is holding the 62nd spot in the Rolex Women’s World Golf rankings.
