Tattoos can have many purposes. A tattoo can serve as a message to the outside world, about who we are or maybe what we stand for. Apparently, depending on which part of the body you get a tattoo on, it carries a certain significance based on it. For example, a wrist tattoo supposedly works as a reminder of sorts.

Our six-time Solheim Cup veteran Lexi Thompson does have a wrist tattoo. And she has one more tattoo as well. The 28-year-old usually holds an air of confidence in the way she carries herself. We are curious to discuss the tattoos that she shared with the world and what they imply.

The spiritual side of Lexi Thompson 

Although she has two publicly known tattoos, one of them is more personal and spiritual than the other. It’s on her right forearm. It might be on her forearm, but it’s kind of tricky to describe the location, as it sort of coincides with her wrist as well. 

The tattoo runs vertically along the edge where her right forearm’s front and back sides merge outwardly. Also, the tattoo extends to the wrist part of the right arm as well. It is an arrow with the word ‘Faith’ written on it. Speaking of the tattoo, Thompson had said that “the arrow is just to keep on going forward.” 

Explaining the tattoo further, she added, “God will have me on the right path.” The tattoo beautifully encapsulates the 11-time LPGA Tour Pro winner’s approach toward life and the essence of her nature. She believes that as long the arrow keeps moving, the ‘faith’ will guide it forward. 

Lexi Thompson also mentioned that the pain she experienced while getting the tattoo would be probably a 4 on a scale. It seems like a reminder to herself that she just needs to proceed with her journey and all else will fall in place.

Speaking of reminders, she has another tattoo on her other wrist. This one is to mark the memory of a proud moment from her career.

The tattoo on Lexi Thompson’s left arm

This time it’s her left arm, and the tattoo is properly on her wrist. It’s on the back side of her left wrist to be precise. The tattoo is of the Olympic rings. Lexi Thompson got herself this tattoo in 2016, when she represented the United States in the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. 

Unlike the other tattoo which is black in color, the Olympic rings tattoo has multiple colors. Lexi Thompson probably wanted the memory to stay with her for a very long time. 

Rickie Fowler also took part in the 2016 Olympics, and he got himself an Olympic ring tattoo as well. This one is just like a souvenir to retain the nostalgia of participating in such a prestigious event, rather the biggest of them all. Well, we hope Lexi Thompson’s faith continues doing a good job of keeping her focused and in form as the Solheim Cup progresses. 

As a reminder, Thompson won her foursome on Friday to play a massive role in Team US’ historic 4-0 clean-sweep of Team Europe in the format.
