“I saw a ton of good golf, and really things played out the way we were hoping,” said the American team Captain after having an exceptional opening day at the 2024 Solheim Cup. The team led by Stacy Lewis bagged a 3 to 1 lead in the morning foursome sessions. The team once again showed its effort in the afternoon four-ball match and bagged a 6 to 2 lead.
The Stars and Stripes team will be needing just 8.5 more points to take home the trophy, which looks pretty much a near-sighted dream. The last time they took home the trophy was back in 2017. And now, after 7 years, the home team would like to repeat their glory in the sight of a possible weather upset.
