Rory was spotted at the range wearing a moron pullover. He was then spotted supporting his team-mate Gareth Bale after he dialed in a spectacular drive from the tee box.

Rory McIlroy and soccer player Gareth Bale teamed up for the 2023 BMW PGA Championship Pro-Am tournament, held on Wednesday morning. During the event, McIlroy watched as Bale showcased an impressive long drive.

Gareth Bale is known for his enthusiasm for golf, regularly practicing to enhance his skills. The DP World Tour shared a video of Bale’s opening shot, which received approval from Rory McIlroy, as evident in the caption: “Rory approves @GarethBale11’s opening drive 👌#BMWPGA | #RolexSeries.”

In the video, Bale was seen teeing off while McIlroy observed, and later, McIlroy expressed his appreciation for the shot. Rory McIlroy faced challenges with his game at the recent Irish Open.

He is determined to improve his performance during this week’s BMW PGA Championship and secure a strong finish in preparation for the upcoming Ryder Cup. For the first two rounds of the BMW PGA Championship, the four-time major champion will be paired with his European Ryder Cup teammates.
