Loyal PGA Tour player Rory McIlroy has openly expressed his distaste for LIV Golf. Obviously, many think his intense feelings for LIV Golf make him a top rival for the LIV golfers. In some instances it is true, for example if we look at LIV Golf’s biggest supporter Phil Mickelson’s remarks on McIlroy.

However, life continues even after the realm of golf. We can always see how common interests may unite even the most bitter adversaries. Like LIV Golf defector Brooks Koepka and McIlroy share their love for a soccer club in England. Let’s find out more!

The most common aspect anyone can find between Koepka and McIlroy is their love for Manchester United, a legendary team in the Premier League. One can occasionally find these two cheering for their favorite team in the stadium. They are both regular visitors to United games.

In 2014, McIlroy won the Open Championship. To honor him, he was given the opportunity to parade the Claret Jug at Old Trafford during halftime. The experience must be surreal for him. He said the whole experience was great for him.

The Glazer siblings, owners of Manchester United, decided to sell the team last year in November. To date they haven’t been able to confirm the new owners, although they are in talks with a few interested parties. At the press conference before the Open Championship earlier this month, reporters asked Koepka if he would like to own United now. The golfer said that the team was too expensive for him. “I could use a little more money, yeah. But I think that’s out of my price range.”
