During the BMW PGA Championship press conference on Saturday, Tommy Fleetwood expressed satisfaction with his performance at Wentworth Golf Club. He described his round as very solid and noted that he improved after a slow start, particularly on holes 4 and 5.

The English pro highlighted his ability to recover from trouble with skillful shots and acknowledged the challenging nature of the course. He expressed contentment with his overall consistency and mentioned the work he’s put into improving his physical condition and swing.

When asked about the enthusiastic crowds at the event, particularly those cheering for him, Fleetwood praised the support saying, “They have been great.” He continued, “It is so much fun playing in front of a crowd like this, and you’re getting rooted for all the way around.”

Looking ahead to the final day of the tournament, the European Champion expressed excitement about playing well in front of the crowd down the stretch and giving them something to cheer about. He emphasized, “It’s a huge event and something that everybody on The European Tour aims for in their career, and playing tomorrow with a chance and hopefully to be able to do it would really be great.

On the third day of the BMW PGA Championship, Tommy Fleetwood faced an unexpected challenge as the sky darkened, making it difficult to continue playing.

The organizers at the greens offered golfers the option to finish their round early the next morning or continue that evening. Tom Kim, Fleetwood’s playing partner, unintentionally allowed Fleetwood to go ahead of him on the 18th hole, effectively ending Fleetwood’s day’s play. Many other golfers had their Round 2 suspended and rescheduled for the next morning due to the darkness.

Currently ranked T3 on the leaderboard, just one shot behind the leaders, the 32-year-old performed exceptionally well, scoring birdies on two of his last holes. Despite his outstanding skills, he mentioned never having experienced such pitch-black conditions before.
