Golf fans you will be surprised to see that your favorite golfer is enjoying College Football in the off-season. Yes, that’s right! The World No. 1 golfer Scottie Scheffler was seen enjoying the game and giving his valuable inputs on the ongoing Louisville vs. Maimi on ESPN. The College GameDay descended upon Austin, Texas, for the highly anticipated matchup between the No. 1 Texas Longhorns and No. 5 Georgia Bulldogs.
Scheffler, alongside the GameDay crew, shared their picks for the day’s top matchups. When it came to the main event, Scheffler proudly backed his alma mater, predicting a Longhorns victory. He wasn’t alone – Lee Corso, Desmond Howard, Nick Saban (via coin toss), and Pat McAfee all agreed, donning Hook’Em headgear and setting off fireworks. But what he said later shook everyone up or rather cracked everyone up.
In the latest post by Christopher Powers, a staff writer for Golf Digest, fans got to see what the golfer said, “Not to bring anything personal into this with Louisville, great city, love the people, but Miami is gonna smoke them”, said Scottie Scheffler showing his support in his signature green masters jacket! But it seems like the fans disagree with his statement.

The panel had a good laugh about it. Kirk Herbstreit was the lone wolf, picking Louisville to win. Pat McAfee playfully teased Herbstreit, asking if he liked that Scheffler had been arrested by Louisville police in the past. Herbstreit quickly shut down the joke, saying he didn’t condone the incident and hadn’t seen any evidence to support the claims. But this wasn’t Scheffler’s first College GameDay rodeo! He appeared in 2022 as a guest picker and received the PGA Tour Player of the Year Award. That time, he correctly predicted Texas would upset Alabama. So is his prediction right this time as well?

So, the question on everyone’s mind is if golfer Scottie Scheffler is right in rooting for Miami. The Miami Hurricanes are facing their toughest challenge yet in 2024 as they travel to Louisville today. Undefeated Miami (6-0), looks to extend its winning streak, but Louisville (4-2) is poised to give them a run for their money.
Both teams boast explosive offenses, with Miami’s Heisman hopeful about Cam Ward leading the charge. However, Louisville’s Tyler Shough has his own potent attack, averaging 36.2 points per game. The decisive factor may be defense, with Miami allowing 18.8 points per game and Louisville giving up 19.7 points per game. Will Scheffler’s prediction prove correct, or will Louisville pull off the upset? Do share your thoughts in the comment section below!
