The Grant Thornton Invitational is set to bring you more than expected and here’s the thing you will never guess who is making a comeback. Nelly Korda’s sister and former golfer Jessica Korda is stepping foot on the greens again but this time not as golfer. We all know that Korda has been suffering from a neck injury for quite some time and everyone has been waiting for her to make a grand comeback and well, it is happening.
According to the latest Instagram post by Jessica Korda, she is going to be making an appearance at the Grant Thornton Invitational this December and she couldn’t be more thrilled! “I’m excited to announce I’ll be back at the Grant Thornton Invitational this December”, read the caption where she was seen posing with her sister, the world’s no. 1 female golfer, in the same outfit. Although she won’t be competing, she’s looking forward to providing live coverage and conducting exclusive interviews with golf legends like Rickie Fowler and Team FiNelly after her maternity leave from the LPGA Tour after the birth of her son in February 2024. Her son whose name is Greyson John DelPrete, was born on February 3, 2024.
Greyson is Jessica’s first child with her husband, Jason DelPrete and we have seen a lot of moments between her and the little Greyson to know that she loves being a mother but now she has decided to be more active in the golf world as well. “Although I’m not competing, I can’t wait to be doing some live coverage and player interviews with my friends Rickie Fowler, Team FiNelly and others from across the LPGA and PGA TOUR. Tune in December 13-15 to catch the best golfers in the world tee it up. @grantthorntoninv @grantthorntonusa”, the caption read further.

But what is the reason fans are this excited for the golfer to play in the upcoming tournament? Well, there might be a reason or two.
Nelly Korda is on her way to rule the greens after an injury
Her comeback is extra special to the fans because of Nelly Korda’s remarkable resilience in the face of adversity. After a month-long absence from professional golf due to a neck injury, the 14-time LPGA Tour champion is finally on the road to recovery. Korda’s last appearance was at the Kroger Queen City Championship in September, where she finished with an impressive T5.

Korda’s injury forced her to withdraw from the BMW Championship in South Korea and the Maybank Championship in Malaysia in October. Disappointed but determined, she shared her sentiments with fans and wrote, “I’m disappointed to miss these events and am especially sorry to my fans looking forward to seeing me play. I’m currently resting and working with my team to get better. Thank you for all your support — it truly means the world to me!”
