During the third round of the Desert Classic, Reed played a shot that headed straight for three trees. While the LIV golfer was convinced his ball had landed on the leftmost tree, the golf fans viewing the game didn’t think so.

In his most recent tweet, Michael FarrierTwist, a golf coach, posted a video of the ball soaring towards the trees. “Patrick Reed identifies his ball in left of the 3 trees yet the tv camera clearly shows it going in the right hand tree??” he wrote. “Am I missing something?”

Some felt the video revealed nothing clearly. And everyone was just seeing what they wanted. One fan commented, “That camera clearly shows nothing unless you’ve eyes like superman.”

As per the rules, if the defector was unsure if the ball was his or not, he would have to take a stroke and distance penalty and return to play three off the tee. But as per Yahoo Sports’ recent article, the golf pro claimed that he was certain that the ball was his. “I would have gone back to the tee if I wasn’t 100 percent,” he announced.

One Reed convinced the referee that his ball was up there by claiming distinctive markings on his ball, and he was allowed to play from adjacent to the tree after incurring a one-stroke penalty. He ended the hole with a bogey.
