As a golf-related product, Fling Golf not only got their investor but a lot of customers because of the show. Golf is a wonderful sport. As a spectator, you might have had an urge to play the sport like the professionals in a golf course.

However, since it is not easy to learn how to spin the ball or which club will be suitable for which shot, the dream stays as a dream.

What if a single product can solve all those problems? Would you buy it? That is what happened when Fling Golf presented its product to the investors and the audience through the show.
Did Fling Golf get a deal on Shark Tank?
“This is the one thing that might get me to a golf course.” When Shark Tank’s Mark Cuban said this, he was not only talking to him but many golf fans watching the show from their homes.
The CEO Alex Van Alen had a fool-proof product; An alternative golf game called the Fling Golf. We can play the sport with the FlingStick, which has a basket at the end, that can spin the ball and would be enough to take the ball from the tee to the green.

The website of the company also has a map where they share over 1000 courses where FlingGolf has been played. Van Alen explained if other courses can liberate their rules, this sport can be played everywhere.

Although Cuban showed interest in the product, it was Daniel Lubetzky, the founder of Kind Snacks, agreed to invest $1.2 million in them.
Who invented Fling golf?
Alex Van Alen and his brothers were interested in creating new sports from the old ones. Interestingly, football on skates, ultimate frisbee while riding dirt bikes, etc. were some of the sports they created throughout the period. It took about 18 months to develop the alternative for golf and its apparel for Van Alen.

Alen found his new partner John Pruellage and launched the FlingStick in 2014. The product was also part of the PGA Merchandise of 2015. Once they gained media attention through Shark Tank, the product sale became double; $89-$179 is the cost of new FlingSticks.
