You might think Kai Trump has been busy. You are not wrong; she was. Only days ago, the 17-year-old was on stage with her president-elect grandfather, Donald Trump. She has also been recording behind-the-scenes footage of Election Night, which is now live on her fledgling YouTube channel.
It was a hectic week indeed.
But if you thought that came at the cost of her priority, golf, let her coach’s words clear that. “Complete admiration. It’s been incredibly distracting, and of course, it’s incredibly exciting, but again, no one knew what was going to happen. There were all these unknowns. Tremendous admiration for how she’s [Kai Trump] been able to manage the interference,” Janet Coles told the Palm Beach Post.

Kai Trump, daughter of Donald Trump Jr. and his ex-wife, Vanessa, is one of the two most famous athletes on the Benjamin School’s roster. The other is Tiger Woods’s teenage son, Charlie. Both Kai and Charlie were part of the boys’ and girls’ teams, respectively, as Benjamin School cruised to the Class 1A District Championship victory a week ago.
That set the Buccaneers up for the State Championship title at the Mission Inn Resort+Club. Kai Trump opened the first round with a 9-over 80. Currently, her team is in the 12th position in the leaderboard at the State Championship. Coles revealed Trump never missed a practice session, even during the election week.

“Honestly, I have done nothing other than applaud her. I’m really proud of the girls. They all played really well. Kai birdied the last hole, which was really, really great. That was wonderful to see,” Coles, who was the team captain of the UCLA Women’s Golf Team, said. Trump’s dedication is indeed praiseworthy considering her age. But then the youngster has been very clear about his end goal: the LPGA Tour.

Nothing though enamors Kai Trump like hitting a round ball with a stick. And that’s what she wants to make a profession of. The 17-year-old appeared on Grant Horvat’s YouTube channel a few months ago. Speaking on her plans, the youngster swatted aside any notion of her foraying into politics. The LPGA Tour is her only goal.
She has already decided which college she would like to attend. Kai Trump will join the University of Miami in 2026. But before that, her current goal is to catapult the team to state championship glory. The final round will start on November 13.
