Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry didn’t quite take the first-round lead at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am – that honor went to American Russell Henley – but the two Irishmen certainly made their mark with unforgettable moments. Both McIlroy and Lowry aced holes in the $20 million PGA Tour event, using their impressive feats to vault into contention.
Each shot a 66, leaving them tied for eighth, just two strokes behind Henley, who posted a 64 at Spyglass Hill. With a limited field of 80 players and no midway cut, every stroke counts. McIlroy, making his first PGA Tour appearance of the season, wowed with a slam-dunk hole-in-one on the 15th hole at Spyglass Hill, while Lowry’s ace came on the iconic par-3 seventh at Pebble Beach, with the Pacific Ocean as the stunning backdrop.
Both the Irishmen celebrated their extraordinary feat at the Pebble Beach Golf Links. They brought in 20 beers and four pizzas for the entire CGM. As reported by the official X account of LIV Golf Insider, “Rory McIlroy and Shawn Lowry chose the four worst beers on the planet to serve the media after their Hole-in-Ones at Pebble Beach today.” They even added, “Those Irishmen have no shame.”

According to the reports shared by LIV Golf Insider, Rory McIlroy, and Shane Lowry served Bud Light, Bud Heavy, Amstel Light, and, Guinness. Now these are most common in the area and liked by some. However, for some, they are a means to get done with the celebrations at a cheaper price.
Taking to this, one of them commented, “Shameful”. Another joked, “Pretty low rent. Where were the champagne and top-shelf spirits ?”
One of them even compared the situation with LIV Golf. After every event, the winners not only get to sing a song but also get to open a bottle of champagne and drink out of it. Serving beers and pizzas instead of that, of course, does not deem fit. Taking to this, one of them commented, “Pretty pathetic spread NGL. CGM takes any scraps they can get. Another way LIV events are WAY better!”

However, not everyone was against it. Some of them like things simple. Taking to this, one of them commented, “classy tbh”. Another defended Guiness and wrote, “Guiness is awesome!”
