Scottie Scheffler won another trophy in 2024! That makes it 7 PGA Tour titles in just 2024. The drama slayer displayed some of his best strokeplay to topple Tom Kim and Justin Thomas out of contention and grab a comprehensive 6-stroke win at the Albany Golf Club in the Bahamas.

With that Scheffler overcame multiple records, including surpassing Nick Faldo as the pro with the 4th longest streak, as the world no. 1, no one could match Scheffler this weekend as he was sitting on his crown comfortably on Sunday.

However, one individual was able to get even with Mr. Inevitable on the events that occurred back on Wednesday, December 4, 2024. The person in question is former PGA Tour pro and renowned golf host, Smylie Kaufman.

The host of The Smylie Show podcast discussed his confrontation with Scottie Scheffler on his channel on YouTube a few hours ago. The podcast also featured Kaufman’s co-host, Charlie Hulme who asked him to summarize Scheffler’s incredible week.

Recollecting the incident that stood out, Smylie mentioned how he was part of the Pro-Am event of the 2024 Hero World Challenge that occurred last Wednesday. Stating that he had a fun time on the course, Kaufman added, “I’m on the range with Scottie (Scheffler). He’s at 8 a.m. on 1, I’m at 8 a.m. at 10,” as he set up the scenario. Then he went on to discuss the trash-talking incident that occurred before teeing off, “I saw him in the locker room before throwing on the shoes. And of course… I think it was either Teddy (Ted Scott) or Scottie that said to me ‘Hey, when started letting media in the locker room.'”

The 1X PGA Tour winner mentioned how the banter from Scheffler hit the right spot as he said “That one hurt.” This prompted Charlie to give the pro and his caddie the title of “Elite trash talkers.” Kaufman then went on to discuss how “He already knew or most guys know, I feel out of place, like a fish out of water,” elaborating on how embarrassed he was feeling. He stated that despite playing 93 PGA Tour events, it has been so long since he gave up his clubs that it feels awkward to be in such a situation again.

Then Smylie went on to describe how he was able to get even with Scheffler as he started off with “Things got better after that.” He mentioned how he saw something on the 13x PGA Tour winner’s neck and asked him, “What is that? Band-aid?” According to Smylie, Scheffler responded with a simple “no” as he reconfirmed, “That’s definitely a band-aid.” The 2024 Masters winner then went on to take off the band-aid before the former pro pointed out, “It’s a Peppa The Pig band-aid on his neck that he had been wearing all day. He forgot it was on his neck.”

“Teddy looked at me like, ‘God, man! We were gonna let that go as long as we could. I guess everybody was in on it,'” said Smylie as he mentioned how the other guys in the locker room were pulling a prank on Scheffler. He mentioned how world no. 1 had breakfast with the guys that morning but nobody mentioned it. Ted went on to tease Smylie about uncovering the breaking news as he said, “Here he comes. Mr. Media in there.” That’s how Kaufman confirmed that he was even with Scheffler on the banter front as they walked out of that locker room.

The humorous interaction between Kaufman and Scheffler in the locker room sheds some light on the kind of person the latter is. It’s great to see that even the best in the world can indulge in a friendly banter with his colleagues amid a Pro-Am event.

However, this is not all Kaufman and Hulme discussed about the incident in this segment. Charlie had a few more questions that may give the fans a glimpse at the family life of Scottie Scheffler.

Scottie Scheffler, the world’s no. 1 dad?

Of course, just knowing that Scottie Scheffler had a Peppa The Pig band-aid was not enough. Hulme wanted to know how the situation occurred. Hence, he prompted Smylie to share more details about how the drama slayer ended up at the center of the stage in the locker room.

Charlie questioned, “Was this a ‘We only had band-aids for Bennett (Scottie Scheffler’s son) and we happened to just use them.” Smylie immediately confirmed that might be the situation. Hulme raised another question that it might be one of Scheffler’s 7-month-old son’s projects to stick something on his parents which Kaufman said can also be a realistic possibility.
